"9 Essential Principles for Good Web Design"

A lot of our Zolve members either have personal websites and blogs or are on the verge of creating one, if they’re not already building one. Here’s a helpful link for all of us, though – help on creating a user-friendly, appealing website. According to Drew Meyers of GeekEstate Blog, “good web design is essential to stand out from the competition.” Absolutely true! So, without further ado, check out this summary of 9 Essential Principles for Good Web Design from PSDTuts.com:

1. Precedence – the user’s eyes should be led around the screen by the design and flow of the site

2. Spacing – avoid clutter

3. Navigation – make the site intuitive and friendly

4. Design to Build – is it possible to build the site I want and maintain its user-friendliness?

5. Typography – words say a lot. Font does, too.

6. Usability – honor common website standards and think about how users will interact with your site.

7. Alignment –order counts

8. Clarity – be picky about your pixels

9. Consistency – does your site look like one site or a mash-up of several?

Real estate professionals seem to have a knack for managing details. So why should building your website be any different? Give these tips strong consideration to help create a clean, appealing website for your clients and all your visitors.
